What is Mindfulness? 

Mindfulness is a practice, or training that develops the skill of attention regulation. 

 

When you Mindful, you are paying close attention to the present moment. You are focused, attentive, awake and alert.  You are not distracted, daydreaming, operating on autopilot, caught up in your thoughts or busy planning. 

 

 

How do you become Mindful?

Through practicing formal and informal mindfulness exercises and mindful meditations.

 

Practicing Mindfulness involves stepping out of our hurried, distracted and busy minds and returning to the present moment.  By anchoring our attention in the present, we develop the capacity to see clearly, to acknowledge and accept what is, with courage and wholeheartedness . 

 

In presence, we are not lost in our thoughts, we are centred, and awake. 

 

Through practice this focused awareness helps us to develop resilience, emotional regulation, compassion and the wisdom to navigate life with more ease and equilibrium.  

 

Neuroscience itself supports the profound impact Mindfulness exerts on the human brain within weeks of training.
